Nathan & Michaela // St Peters Town Hall Wedding

St Peters Town Hall wedding - Andrea Calodolce Celebrant

“Ladies and gentlemen, family and friends… and birds.”

This is how Nathan and Michaela’s ceremony began – definitely a first for me.

You see, there was no way Nathan and Michaela were going to get married without their dearest pet birds Friend and Clementine present.

Nor was Michaela going to wear a white dress or make a grand entrance (she hates attention).

Michaela was not going to be ‘given away’, nor was Nathan going to do any ‘taking’.

An acknowledgement of country was essential as was a show of support for marriage equality.

Having known each other since high-school and already being totally committed to each other for many, many years, Nathan and Michaela had debated whether to get married at all.

When they finally decided that they would, it had to be on their terms. And I applaud them for that.

Nathan and Michaela carefully considered every aspect of their ceremony to ensure that it felt right for them.

They were married at the beautiful old St Peters Town Hall in Sydney’s inner west in a simple, heart-felt ceremony surrounded by their dearest family, friends and pets (who were all very well behaved indeed).
