Anna and Craig were after a simple, heartfelt ceremony which they decided to hold just blocks from their home in Cronulla.
On rehearsal day, we walked to Darook Park from their home in the rain, hoping that the weather was going to clear for the next day. Another concern was how Anna (in heels) and her elderly father and step-father were going to make it down the rocky hillside. We navigated the smoothest route and on the day they took it slow and made it to Craig without a hitch. It may have been tricky to navigate, but once in position, the natural amphitheater of Darook Park provided the perfect sheltered seaside setting for their ceremony (and the sun came out – hooray!)
The ceremony began with an acknowledgement of country followed by an absolutely beautiful original song performed on acoustic guitar by their good friend Constance. The song captivated the guests (there were tears!) and we had quite a few passers by stop to watch the ceremony, which I think is always a good sign.
