Steph & James’ Southern Highlands Wedding // Mali Brae Farm, Moss Vale NSW

Bride and Groom country wedding

Steph and James were married in a beautiful country style wedding under the stunning willow tree at Mali Brae Farm in the NSW Southern Highlands. When they came to me, they were after a relaxed vibe that reflected their personalities and would set the tone for a fun night ahead. They had seen me in action before, having been guests at two of my previous weddings (so they knew what I was all about).

I’m all for a wedding party if that’s your jam, but rather than just have them stand their looking fab during your ceremony, I always encourage my couples to introduce them. This adds a nice personal element to the ceremony, the inevitable laughter breaks the tension (which lets your guests relax and get into it) and it makes the people you’ve chosen to stand by your side on your big day feel extra spesh. In Steph and James’ ceremony one of the unsuspecting bridesmaids was so moved by the gesture she was brought to tears.

Steph and James knew they wanted to write their own vows and they did a cracking job. Their words were heartfelt and sincere, but there was also a bit of good humoured banter in there too.

This ceremony was so upbeat and we laughed and laughed (check out the grin on Steph’s face). I had so much fun I wished I was staying for the champagne, lawn games, cosy fireside conversations and dance floor boogies that were to come.
