Kim & Ramzi’s Beachside Wedding // Northern Beaches, Sydney

Kim and Ramzi wanted to impress their overseas guests with a quintessentially Sydney beach setting. Long Reef Golf Club on Sydney’s Northern Beaches was the perfect spot. The rehearsal the day before may have been a windswept washout, but on their wedding day the sky cleared just enough for a beautiful beachside ceremony.

Ramzi’s mother, sister and some friends made the trip from Italy to Sydney for the wedding, and to ensure they didn’t miss out on a thing, Ramzi asked his friend Filippo to act as interpreter. Filippo did an amazing job. Not only did he translate the whole ceremony into Italian (written) so that the visitors could read along during the ceremony, he also interpreted (live) the legal wording and vows so that Ramzi’s mother Preziosa could legally act as one of their witnesses. The words Filippo translated during the ceremony were rather dull – the legal wording that is mandatory in all marriage ceremonies – but being the Italian that he is, he couldn’t help but get emotional. It was such a beautiful moment. Gotta love a big bulky bloke shedding a tear in a ceremony (and he wasn’t even the one getting married!)
